Music Will Never Die
Nothing brings the community together as well as singing and dancing to the same beat. In the true spirit of Friendship Day, Cordians gathered to show just how well they knew each other's hearts through the rhythm and music they shared.
Marking the finale of this celebration, five performances across Senior High School brought one common language to the stage: music, a form of expression understood by many and one that bridges friendships in the most unlikely places.
Beginning the show, Oatside led their set with "Same Ground" and Rivermaya's "Umaaraw Umuulan." They were then followed by the band Parokya ni Dambi, whose performance featured Parokya ni Edgar's "Lagi Mong Tandaan", "Sandalan", and the crowd-favorite "Kabisado" by IV OF SPADES.
Deviating from the band setup, a duet performance was done by Jologs, including songs such as the popular favorites "Maybe this Time" and "Palayo sa Mundo" by Jolianne Salvado and OPM R&B star Arthur Nery.
Continuing the lineup, Erard and Friends sang "Balisong" by the legendary alternative rock band Rivermaya, as well as "Tensionado" by the pop-rock band Soapdish. Closing the show was Tugtugtog Sahur, who performed "Bulong" and "Imahe," alongside one of IV of Spades' most celebrated hits, "Mundo."
Through the performances of Parokya ni Dambi, Oatside, Erard and Friends, Tugtugtog Sahur, and the Jologs Duet, students came together not only to celebrate the music, but the friendships that make them matter.
Familiar melodies reached every corner, and even the quietest faces found themselves smiling as cameras and phones caught moments worth remembering.
As the crowd dispersed, the spirit of the celebration lived on through the connections it strengthened, proving that while performances are bound to end, music will never die. After all, for every student present in that moment, the gym became a place where friendships were not only celebrated, but immortalized in the memories of those who shared them.
