Sacred Heart College of Lucena City, Inc. (SHC) hosted an advanced Teacherโs Day celebration
on Friday, October 2, at the second floor of the Perboyre Building.
The event included teachers across the entire Basic Education Department (BED) and was
organized and hosted by both the Student Executive Board (SEB) and the Senior High Executive Council (SHEC).
Following the opening remarks of Nadley Ysabelle H. Mercado to formally begin the event, Mrs.
Melissa A. Carillo, the principal of SHC, took to the stage to deliver an inspirational message on
what it means to be Cordian educators.
โWe are changing the world one child at a time,โ she stated. โWe educate with a heart while
remaining steadfast, committed, and compassionate.โ
Afterwards, a question-and-answer session for the attendees present followed, asking them what
the most rewarding part of being a teacher is for them here at SHC.
Reflecting on this, Sir Cyrus Aldrin P. Cabutihan shared his perspective: โMore than the gifts or words of appreciation, what I treasure most is knowing that mystudents remember me not only as their teacher, but as someone who believed in them and was there for them.โ
Highlighting the appreciation that the students have for their teachers, a special video greeting
was displayed, featuring warm shoutouts to their respective mentors.
The festive gathering also featured heartfelt serenades, special faculty performances, and vibrant band numbers ranging from grades seven to twelve that kept the energy high throughout the
event.
Adding a fun and energetic twist to the festivities, the teachers stepped up for an entertaining
budots dance segment, with Sir Ryan Lloyd Allorda playfully hiding underneath his table before finally joining the performance.
As the program drew to a close, Sir John Airell Alcantara delivered a heartfelt message of
gratitude, extending deep appreciation to the Student Executive Board and the Senior High
Executive Council for their hard work and dedication in successfully mounting the tribute.
The memorable celebration concluded with a solemn closing prayer, leaving educators and
students alike with a renewed sense of community, warmth, and mutual respect as they wrapped up the advanced Teacherโs Day festivities.
