SACRED HEART COLLEGE DELEGATION CONDUCTS BENCH MARKING VISIT TO NATIONAL CHENGCHI UNIVERSITY IN TAIWAN

A delegation of select faculty members and employees from Sacred Heart College of Lucena City, Inc. concluded a successful benchmarking visit to the Zhi Nan Campus of the 國立政治大學 National Chengchi University (NCCU) on December 3, 2024. The visit aimed to exchange best practices, foster collaboration, and explore opportunities for mutual growth.
SHC’s representatives include Dr. Maricel Baroro, Dr. Raquel Sena, Dr. Elena Sia, Dr. Maria Zorayda Torres, Dr. Helen Tolete, Mrs. Maricel Sante, Mrs. Marietta Pareja, and Mr. Billie Tolentino.
The team were engaged with NCCU’s esteemed faculty, discussing innovative teaching methods, research initiatives, and student-centric approaches. Among the highlights of the activity was the tour of the infrastructure and facilities. The team toured the university’s state-of-the-art infrastructure, including laboratories, libraries, cooperative, and recreational facilities.
Delegates also explored potential research partnerships, focusing on graduate-level educational studies, and teacher education program for possible teaching internships. Also, faculty members were allowed to observe PhD classes to simulate techniques in teaching in the graduate school.
“The visit has broadened our perspectives on academic excellence and research innovation. We look forward to fruitful collaborations,” said Dr. Baroro, SHC’s Vice-President for Academics.
Dr. Angela Yung Chin Hou and Dr. William Yat Wai Lu, NCCU visiting professor from Durham University, shared experiences and personal reflections on academic writing and publishing.
“We’re thrilled to share our expertise and learn from our distinguished guests. This exchange will undoubtedly enrich our academic community,” said Dr. Wat Lu of the National ChengChi University.
The benchmarking visit paved the way for potential partnerships, including joint research projects, possible student exchange programs, faculty development initiatives, and curriculum development collaborations.
The successful benchmarking visit demonstrates the commitment of both institutions to academic excellence, innovation, and global cooperation. Future collaborations will foster a vibrant academic community, driving growth and progress.
