SACRED HEART COLLEGE HOLDS SERVANT ADMINISTRATOR’S FORMATION IN LUCBAN, QUEZON

LUCENA CITY—Sacred Heart College of Lucena City, Inc. (SHC) successfully held its Servant Administrators’ Formation on October 28-29 at Batis Aramin in Lucban, Quezon, focusing on community engagement and leadership development among participants.

The event began with a Community Outreach activity in Brgy. Wakas, Tayabas City, where participants engaged with residents through a dialogue of life. The outreach concluded with a communal “boodle fight,” fostering camaraderie between SHC participants and the local community.

The formation featured a talk from Fr. George Vargas, who introduced the concept of “Ubuntu,” emphasizing shared humanity and interconnectedness. He urged SHC’s servant leaders to apply Ubuntu in their wider community service. The first day also included confession and socialization, allowing participants to reflect and connect with one another.

Day 2 continued to highlight the Spirit of Ubuntu, with Fr. Vargas reiterating the need for cooperation to achieve SHC’s shared objectives. He reaffirmed the seven Ubuntu values discussed the previous day and advised administrators to serve others by exemplifying these principles.

Following the Mass, Mr. Narciso G. Cruzat Jr. led an integration session, encouraging attendees to share their thoughts on Fr. George’s message. In response, Ms. Pastores, Ms. Eleonor Marquez, Ms.Marife Vermon, Ms. Josol, Ms. Lani Peregrin, and Ms. Hazel San Gil reflected on their experiences, particularly their relationships with peers.

Sr. Maria Luisa B. Javier, DC, also shared insights from the training, discussing challenges faced by school administrators. She emphasized the importance of compassion and empathy in supporting stakeholders and implementing programs inspired by the three-day event.

The event concluded with strengthened commitments to servant leadership, centered on the values of Ubuntu and community service.
