In an accomplished display of creativity and environmental consciousness, Senior High School students from the Basic Education Department of Sacred Heart College secured 2nd place in the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Quezon Infomercial Video Making Contest. The judging and awarding ceremony took place at the St. Jude Cooperative and Hotel and Event Center on Diversion Road, Lucena City, earlier today.
This achievement was part of a collaborative effort with Asian Vision Incorporated, as the competition revolved around the theme of the celebration of Consumer Welfare Month: “GenS: Generation Sustainable.”
The winning entry, titled “The Future is in Your Cart,” delved into the crucial aspects of sustainability, focusing on the 7Rs: reduce, reuse, repurpose, repair, recycle, rethink, and refuse. The infomercial was a testament to the students’ dedication to promoting sustainable practices.
The team comprised Ysabela Ma. Beatriz N. Diokno, Marvilen Jay F. Carlos, Fran Sebastian U. Javelosa, Michael Aaron M. Lingon, Ashley B. Villamin, John Vee B. Japor, Lawrence Tristan R. Libiran, Jilian Cyrene R. Lanting, Ajay Pureza, Soren B. Franco, and Herbie Myani B. Buera. The guidance provided by Mr. Sherwin C. De La Cruz played a pivotal role in the team’s performance.
The DTI Quezon Infomercial Video Making Contest serves as a platform for young talents to exhibit their creativity and commitment to societal well-being. Sacred Heart College’s Senior High School students surpassed expectations, leaving a lasting impact in the realm of sustainable awareness.
MJ, a participant in the competition, expressed, “The outcomes took us by surprise. With only a two-day window to conceptualize, script, shoot, and edit videos, the experience was truly unforgettable. We are committed to giving our best in future endeavors.”
