In a heartfelt tribute to the Cordian educators in commemoration of the Teacherโs day, the Higher Education Department Student Executive Council in collaboration with each College Departmental officers initiated an event on October 5, 2023 at the SHC Rendu Cultural Center and Gymnasium, where gratitude and love were expressed in the form of messages, song and dance numbers, and fun games.
The event commenced with a solemn Eucharistic celebration officiated by Rev. Fr. Merlin Las Piรฑas, offering prayers for blessings upon the teachers and expressing profound gratitude for their significant contributions to educating and shaping the students.
Following the holy mass, the emcees, Carmelo Villanueva and Kodje Valdejueza kicked off the program by reminiscing personal memorable moments with their professors. Meanwhile, Eriz Guinto and Rainiel Ayala (both from the College of Pharmacy) graced the occasion with their touching rendition of the songs โWith a Smileโ and โYouโ respectively.
The celebration continued with fun games like ‘Vest in Spelling’ and โBring Meโ, organized and facilitated by the College of Psychology, bringing laughter among the educators. Furthermore, the event includes a Spoken Poetry performance by AJ Gonzales, a dance number by TKPA, and touching messages from selected College representatives, including Ms. Reshie Calapati, Alexis Sumilang, Ricki San Juan, and Elaine Luna.
Exciting parts of the event include the “Rampanalo” segment where lucky teachers won special prizes, raffle draws, and the inspiring speeches of Sister President and Paul Jericho Aguila (SEC President) where they highlighted how the Cordian educators inspire the learners and make a lasting positive impact in their lives.
At lunch, delicious food was served, and a raffle draw was facilitated by Mr. Eduard Mancilla. Cash prizes were given in the raffle, generously provided by sponsors. The event concluded with hearts warmed by shared moments of appreciation and love.
