Sacred Heart College, Lucena City – In a display of unity and cultural diversity, Sacred Heart College celebrated the founding anniversary of the United Nations with a resounding success at the SLM Grounds today. The Parade of Nations, organized by the Araling Panlipunan teachers, brought together 2 class representatives from every grade, from nursery to grade 12, who proudly represented their chosen countries.
The event, held on October 27th, saw the SLM Grounds transformed into a colorful mosaic of international cultures. Students clad in traditional costumes from their selected countries showcased the beauty of global unity.
This year’s Parade of Nations not only provided a platform for cultural appreciation but also highlighted the spirit of togetherness and understanding that the United Nations stands for. Students displayed an impressive level of enthusiasm and pride in representing their chosen countries.
Mr. Edgardo Bautista, one of the Araling Panlipunan teachers and the event host, expressed his satisfaction with the outcome. He said, “It’s heartwarming to see our students actively engage with the values of the United Nations and embrace the world’s diverse cultures. The Parade of Nations truly embodies the ideals of unity and cooperation,” according to Mr. Edgardo Bautista. “Just like this celebration in the Basic Education Department is a true testimony that we are living in a diverse society in which we must promote inclusivity in order to achieve equality, freedom, and justice for all. Ika nga natin ‘Lahat kasali, kasali lahat.'”
The returning event, a cherished tradition at Sacred Heart College, not only educates students about the importance of global cooperation but also fosters an environment of cultural appreciation and respect. It was a memorable day for both the participants and the spectators who witnessed the vibrant showcase of unity in diversity.
As the Parade of Nations concluded, it left an indelible mark on the minds of all who attended, emphasizing the importance of celebrating the founding anniversary of the United Nations and continuing to promote the principles it stands for.
The successful event was a testament to the school’s commitment to providing students with a well-rounded education that extends beyond the classroom, promoting international understanding and cooperation.
Sacred Heart College continues to instill in its students a sense of global citizenship, and the Parade of Nations remains a significant avenue for achieving this noble objective.
