August 18 – After three years of the SHC-HED Organizational Festival being limited to eyes glued in various gadgets through online means, the HED Organizational Festival dubbed as Kordiwang 2023 was held at the Ozanam Covered Court, where students had the chance to join in orgs.

It all started with the Corsh Walk, which is a play on words combining the terms of the ever-trending Frosh Walk and the institution’s Cordian family name. Alongside freshies were representatives of their Department guiding them. An initial destination at the SLM Ground, they went through the Canteen Hallway and eventually reached the rendezvous point at the SHC Ozanam Covered Court. The same Departmental Officers who delighted the freshies with the warmest welcomes and precious smiles to a new academic year are also the ones introducing them to the SHC-HED extra-curricular life. A simple reminder yet again, a Cordian is not just all about the mind but also for the heart and soul.

At first glance, the creativity and passion of each organization (Religious, Socio-Civic, Cultural, and Academic) filled the room in their respective booths with their mesmerizing aesthetic and mouth-watering food and beverages. But before freshies could refer to these booths, the Organizational Festival is about to formally commence its opening ceremony.

A room already filled with the prestige from the likes of school administrators and faculty personnel. Sister President Maria Luisa Javier, DC never failed everyone to bring inspiration to all Cordians alike by having an open challenge to all the freshies to be like the student leaders they see before them. Citing examples like SEC President Paul Jericho Aguila and Ms. Cordian Earth Advocate Kodje Valdejueza.

Afterward, it was time for the Organizations’ representatives to deliver their eloquent speeches to promote their precious clubs and booths. Case in point, Talinong Kordeano Performing Arts even have their own dance and song intermission number.

As various Organizations got their voices heard, the Organizational Hunt has officially begun. The Cordial aura of excitement and passion was felt throughout anyone. For the 2nd-4th years, it was their recruitment process. Meanwhile for the freshies, it was their opportunity to find their next home.

Poetically, the Organizational Hunt did not have its closing ceremony. Meaning, the Cordian-Vincentian ideas of all the clubs are not temporary rather they are here to stay forever. All in all, this is just a simple glimpse of all the clubs’ soon-to-be success in this fruitful AY 2023-2024.
