
“Fausta” joins Cinemalaya Festival 2009

MANILA – Tanghalang Manuel Conde of the Cultural Center of the Philippines was filled by students, film critics, friends of the cast and crew and alumni, as Sacred Heart College produced film “Fausta” took part at the 2009 Cinemalaya Festival, July 21.
Director Felino Tañada brought “Fausta” to this annual Philippine independent film fest. Ms. Perla Bautista who played Hermana Fausta Labrador graced the one-time showing of the film. Other actors who starred in “Fausta” were also present: Ningning Zafranco, Mabel Lucero-Redor, Josefina Sace and Bishop Ruben Profugo. The production designer, Norman Ragudo, and the AB Communication students who helped in the production and editing of the film, Kenneth Parentela, Teresa Tan, and Neville Cabañeros, also witnessed the showing of “Fausta” in the festival.
Film critics applauded “Fausta” and extended their warmest congratulations to Sacred Heart College for having produced this inspiring film about the school’s founder. Ms. Perla Bautista was also praised for her outstanding performance in her first title role.
SHC President Sr. Fe G. Gedalanga, DC also invited to the CCP showing the Daughters of Charity who were not able to come to Lucena City during the “Fausta” premiere last March.
Cinemalaya, running on its 5th year, was set last July 17 to 26 at the different theaters of CCP.
