Cordians battle it out in Cordian Olympics 2018

Cordians compete in different categories during the Cordian Olympics at the Rendu Cultural Gymnasium, SHC Covered Court and SHC Instructional Media Center, October 18-20.

Dance sport was the first event where three departments fought for the title. The College of Pharmacy and Nursing bagged the title followed by the College of Liberal Arts and Psychology at 2nd place and the College of Computer Science and Social Work at 3rd place.

The next event was chess held at the SHC Instructional Media Center. In the men’s category – board 1, the College of Teacher Education dominated against their competitors while in board 2, the College of Computer Science and Social Work was declared champion. In Women’s category – board 1, the College of Accountancy reigned supreme while in board 2, the College of Business Administration defended their title.

In Badminton, the College of Pharmacy and Nursing triumphed against their competitors in the men’s and women’s singles and doubles. In Table Tennis men’s division, College of Computer Science and Social Work for singles and the College of Business Administration for doubles, the College of Accountancy for the women’s division - singles, and the College of Teacher Education for the mixed doubles.

In Volleyball men’s division, the College of Pharmacy and Nursing outdid the other departments followed by the College of Liberal Arts and Psychology at 2nd place and the College of Computer Science and Social Work at 3rd place. In the women’s division, the College of Accountancy seized the title of champion followed by the College of Business Administration at 2nd place and the College of Pharmacy and Nursing at 3rd place.

In the Basketball men’s division, the College of Computer Science and Social Work came out on top followed by the College of Teacher Education at 2nd place and the College of accountancy at 3rd place. The College of Teacher Education dominated in the women’s division followed by the College of Accountancy at 2nd place and at 3rd place is the College of Computer Science and Social Work.

Representatives of the College of Teacher Education, Karl Angel Olaivar, together with his partner, Trisha Ann Bandoquillo stood triumphantly as the new Mr. and Ms. Cordian Sports and Wellness Advocates 2018. Coming in 2nd runner-up is Christian Benedict Tan from the College of Accountancy and Martha Isabel Venzuela from the Department of Psychology. Khalel Kent Abuel from the College of Business Administration is joined by Kate Carole Dalmacion from the College of Accountancy as the 3rd runner-up.

The College of Business Administration defended their title as champion in the Cheerdance Competition on the third day of the Cordian Olympics 2018. The College of Liberal Arts and Psychology took the 2nd place and the College of Teacher Education at 3rd place.

Overall champion was awarded to the College of Teacher Education garnering 388 points followed by the College of Nursing and Pharmacy with 341 points and the College of Computer Science with 301 points.
